- About the Role
- We are seeking a Software Engineer with strong analytical skills and a broad technical background to join a small, collaborative team working on an AI-driven initiative.
- Unlike traditional development roles, this position focuses on analysing web and mobile co-debases and UI implementations to understand how design systems are adopted across real-world applications. You'll help assess the use of Material Design components across Web, Android, and iOS platforms, generating insights that inform future design and product strategies.
- This role is ideal for someone who enjoys exploring code, identifying patterns, and turning technical findings into meaningful recommendations.
- Key Responsibilities
- Analyse front-end implementations across Web, Android, and iOS applications to identify design system and UI component usage patterns.
- Investigate source code, architecture, and implementation approaches to determine alignment with Material Design principles and components.
- Partner with engineers, designers, researchers, and cross-functional stakeholders to define analysis methodologies and success metrics.
- Scope technical problems, evaluate potential approaches, and recommend scalable solutions that balance short-term and long-term goals.
- Write and maintain scripts, tools, queries, or automation to support data collection and analysis efforts.
- Work with AI-driven systems and datasets to improve the accuracy and effectiveness of design-system analysis.
- Review code and technical artifacts to identify patterns, dependencies, technical debt, and opportunities for improvement.
- Contribute to system design discussions, documentation, operational processes, and knowledge sharing.
- Support project delivery from analysis and validation through reporting, monitoring, and stakeholder communication.
- Help establish best practices for engineering excellence, maintainability, scalability, and technical quality
Your profile:
- Professional experience as a Software Engineer or in a closely related technical role.
- Strong understanding of front-end development concepts and modern software engineering practices.
- Experience analysing, understanding, or reviewing existing codebases.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify patterns and draw meaningful conclusions from technical data.
- Experience with SQL and data analysis.
- Knowledge of software architecture, system design, data structures, algorithms, debugging, and code quality.
- Ability to work independently, manage ambiguity, and drive projects forward with minimal supervision.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualification
- Python experience for scripting, automation, or data analysis -preferred
- Experience with AI/ML-related projects or a strong interest in AI-powered solutions
- Mobile development experience on Android and/or iOS
- Familiarity with one or more of the following:
- JavaScript (Web)
- Kotlin / Java (Android)
- Swift / Objective-C (iOS)
- AI-powered analysis tools and workflows
- Experience working with design systems, UI frameworks, or component libraries.
- Experience evaluating code quality, maintainability, and implementation patterns.
